November 15, 2006

This Wednesday has been a busy one for me. I mowed my yard and picked up trash and cut-up a tree that was blown down. Today has been very windy all day. I would not let the wind stop me from doing what needed to be done before my vacation was all used up. I went to a pawn shop yesterday and bought a pressure washer for 75.00. I then had to spend an additional 27. for a gas tank because the one that was on it was leaking. I then bought a new air cleaner filter and a new spark-plug. I took the carburetor off and carried it to Johnson's Saw and Lawnmower repair to have it rebuilt. I was told that the kit would cost 11.00 and to rebuild it would cost about 25.00 more.
I am in need of a pressure washer and feel like this will be a good deal. This is a 6hp OHV that looks to have had little use. It looks like whoever owned it let some water get in the tank and foul up the carburetor. I pulled the carb off and cleaned it out and reinstalled it on the mower and started the mower up, but it only ran for about 5 minutes and stopped. I determined that fuel was not getting through to the engine.
In a couple of days I will know if I was right.

Now I am getting sleepy and am ready to go to bed and get ready for tomorrows work.

Nov. 8th 2006

Wednesday has been another nice day. No rain today, pleasant weather with sunshine and slight wind. Today was another day of training at my job. Two more days and then I will have another week of training out of the way for another year. I decided to go to Sodbuster's for lunch where I had a variety of food off the buffet. I sat in my car and ate while listening to President Bush at a press conference answering questions after the election was over. The Democrats took over leadership in the House and Senate. Now we will see what is going to happen in the next few months.

Now is the time for me to publish this blog and wait for the next day to arrive.

Nov. 6th 2006

Monday started out with plenty of rain. It rained most of the night on Sunday and carried over in to Monday morning. Our rain gauge showed 1-1/2 inches. As I was driving in to work there were a couple of places where flood waters were standing on the highway causing traffic to be diverted around that area of the road.

It has been a good day all in all. I was in training today and will be in training all the week. Nothing spectacular happened today, it was uneventful like most days in my life (thank God).

It is now 1:10 am and I have gotten out of bed from my early retirement and decided to add to my blog. I have improved on my typing since I have decided to update this on a daily basis. I hope that I will be able to stay on task and keep this updated. As I continue on this my new hobby, I hope to grow my blog to become more interesting and add pictures and interesting information. I have a digital camera and digital microscope and I live in the country with a lot of interesting animals and creatures that we co-exist with, so I intend to add pictures that I feel will add to the enjoyment of visiting my blog and also for my own pleasure.

I am about to do a little e-baying before I go to bed. I want to find one of the new PS3 gaming systems. They are going for over a thousand dollars on e-bay and will be retailing in the 600. range at the stores. Nov. 17th is the day that they are supposed to be released to the stores, so I will try to get my hands on a couple of them and resell them.

I will post again tomorrow.

Sunday Nov. 5, 2006

Church this morning, good service, communion service held. The choir sang with the Spirit and all in all we had a good worship service. Sunday School started off the day with a lesson on putting your trust in God.
After church we decided to have sloppy joes for lunch with chips and tea. The Dallas vs Washington game is on the tube. Now the game is tied at 19 with 2 minutes left and Washington with the ball within field goal range. Now a field goal try was made by Washington and missed. 34 seconds left and Dallas has the ball. 18 seconds left and Dallas has the ball trying to get in field goal range. Dallas tried the field goal and it was blocked and returned within field goal range for Washington. Redskins win with a field goal with no time on the clock.
Now I am trying to come up with something to add to my blog. I am using the new beta and would like to change the template. I picked one and put it in place, but am not able to pull it up easily. I am still brought back to my old template. That's all for now. I will publish this and see how it turns out.

Saturday at the house, I think it is the 4th of November. Actually it is the fourth of November. This morning Marilyn and I went to see our Grandson and his football team, the Colts, win another game and earn a minimum of second place in the championship game coming up in two weeks. We have had a good day today. Early in the day it was cold, but later it warmed up and turned into a very nice day. We stopped at Mom's this morning and visited with her, George and Zach. I have this weekend off work and in training next week and after that a week off. I am looking forward to a few days off to be able to work on my place. I have been sitting here on my sofa and surfing the net while watching tv. I am also practicing my typing skills. This is enough for today, I will give another try another day. Happy blogging.

Rickey's Ramblings
This is my day off from work and a day that I have used to relax and do some of the things that I enjoy. Today I washed my car and cooked a good breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and strawberries. I then decided to go to Palestine and take care of a little business that needed taking care of. I returned some hardware to Lowes and while there had a cup of their delicious coffee. I then went to the Palestine Library and updated some software on my computer using their hi-speed wireless internet. This is a very good place to come and chill out. Not too much noise, just an occassional baby cry and people talking and a couple of cell phones going off, although the sign at the entry to the library says "please turn off all cell phones". All in all this has been a very good day.
My Neice Tracey has been on my mind today and I have been praying for her. She will be alright. God will take care of her.

First day of entries

The start of my blog is being done while sitting in the Palestine Public Library in Palestine Texas. This is the second blog that I have created using blogger's site. I hope to continue with this one and keep it updated and filled with interesting things. Stay tuned.
