August 27, 2012 update

Hi Blog. Man have I been through a lot of things since I last wrote on this blog. I have owned a couple of tractors and sold one of them. I have not worked in over a year since the Youth Facility that I worked at closed their doors. I have been able to do work at my house and at my families houses. Life overall has been good. Today I have enjoyed a good rain that God sent us and took my Grandson Shaun to his physical therapy appointment. Afterwards I picked up a good meal for my Wife and me,  took it home and we sat down and enjoyed the meal while watching Grimm on TV.
No we are chilling. I am in my easy chair and she is in her relaxing spot on the sofa. Here is a picture of the last tractor that I bought. It is an International 384 diesel. It is an 1980 model.

I have enjoyed using it. The previous tractor that I owned was a Ford 9N, pictured to the right. We own 15 acres of land that has to be mowed and taken care of. Without a tractor it is impossible to stay on top of the weeds and brush that grows in abundance around here.  I am starting a blog that will be about all things tractor and out doors. I will be sharing what I am encountering as I do work around my place and keep the machinery running in the process.

See you later.

Monday 2011

I have a day off work and am resting up for the next four days of work. Yesterday found me working in busted water pipes after coming home from church.
I had to remove a portion of the floor in order to reach the busted waterline.
Today, there seems to be no leaks and I am glad. We are getting ready to go to Palestine to pick up a few items.
That's all for now.

January 28, 2008 Post

Hi there folks. I am enjoying a fine day at home after my weekend of work. This has been a very comfortable day. I was able to discover a problem that had developed with my son's car and thankfully, the estimate to have it repaired was not too much.

Today was a slow, deliberate day where I watched recorded basketball games and television broadcasts.

At this point I am sitting at home with my wife contemplating what I will do next.
I am praying that God will continue to guide and lead us in the right paths and that we will let him.

August 26, 2007 Tyler trip

Today we woke up in Tyler again. We stayed at the Candlewood again. We went to Tyler Saturday morning and checked in early after eating at IHOP again. We were in the room by 10:30am. We rested and then got up and ate at Mercado's Mexican Restaurant. The meal was very good. We took leftovers back to the room. We stopped by Lowe's and meandered through the store and finally went to the room and kicked back.

This morning we took our time and checked out at 11:55 am. We then headed back home. We stopped in Jacksonville and ate at Chili's. We had a good lunch and then headed home. We made it in and then chilled the rest of the evening.

July 14, 2007 Trip to Tyler

Today when we woke up it was raining hard. We have a trip to Tyler planned for today and reservations made at Candlewood Suites. We took our time getting ready and left for Tyler. We drove until we drove out of the rain and ended up in Tyler at IHOP for breakfast. As always there was a wait until we were served. Finally breakfast was finished and we drove to our hotel to see if we could check in early. We were able to check in, so we went to our room and took a nap until supper time.
For supper we went to Cheddars and had a very good dinner. We were not able to eat all of the food that we bought, so we brought what was left to our room.
We stopped by a discount store and bought some jeans and shoes and returned to our room.
All in all it was a good day.

My Day at Home after my trip to San Antonio

June 18, 2007
Today I decided to chill at the house and not venture too far from my living room. I got out of bed early and took care of the garbage and fed the cat and relaxed. I was home alone. My Wife went to work.
My Wife made it home about 6pm and we ate salad and watermelon and watched Army Wives on the big screen. Life is good.
That's all for now.

June 14 thru June 16, trip to San Antonio

June 16, 2007.
Just completed a good trip to San Antonio for a School Board training. We drove down on Wednesday morning and arrived just before 2pm. The trip was pleasant and uneventful, which we were glad of. Each day was a day in training sessions for me and a day of R&R for my wife.

We walked along the Riverwalk several times and by it and above it many more times. We happened to be on Commerce street at The Marriott on the Riverfront when the Spurs were playing the fourth game in the Championship series against the Cavaliers. We were standing in the hotel bar watching the game along with many Spurs faithful. There was much cheering and noise making each time a Spurs player would make a big play. At the conclusion of the game it had begun to rain. When the Spurs won everyone went out of the hotel and into the street. By then there were many, many fans and observers and police and vehicles full of fans celebrating and having a good time. We joined in the merriment and high fived various people in the street and hollered and hooped and enjoyed the revelry. The rain was pouring down on us as we made our way through the crowed streets and went toward our hotel. Police were out in force and were trying to control the congested streets and sidewalks, but to no avail. I saw one policeman throw up his hands in resignation and disgust at his failed efforts to get compliance from the unruly celebrators. The people were not breaking or fighting, but celebrating by walking into the streets among the vehicles which were slowly proceeding down the street honking horns and people yelling out of the windows and some in the back of trucks yelling and holding up signs and having a good time. We finally made it back to our hotel and turned on the tv and checked out the news on the celebration going on in the streets. Pictures were flashed on the screen showing the crowded streets, which we were not able to really appreciate being in the midst of the crowd. Let me say that there were many, many, many people in the streets.

We are now starting on another day of training and R&R. Today we ate at some good restaurants and had another good day. We walked the mall and rode in a ride that simulated being in a mine car in a mine shaft that dipped and twisted and dropped and was a lot of fun.

Finally our time in San Antonio came to an end and we checked out and set the Garmin Gps and rolled back to Grapeland. First we set the Gps to stop us at a Red Lobster along the route and so we stopped and had a good lunch.
We made it home Saturday evening before dark. I called in to work to find out what time I was to be to work. It showed 2am Sunday morning. That meant that I had to go work in 4 or 5 hours. I went to be and got about 4 hours sleep and started on a 12 hour shift at 2am.
All in all, I am satisfied that the time was granted to me and my Wife to take our trip and that we made it back home safely. Thank you Heavenly Father.
That's all for now.
